Today marks the last day of my final exam for the first semester. Alhamdulillah, at last... hehe
So again I get the chance to write something after being inactive for one month.
Just know I've taken my dinner with turkish friends in our house. There was etli borek (pastry with minced meat in it.), tomato soup, with bulgur pilav. While eating we was busy talking about the event that we are planning for next monday. Which is "exchange gift"... :) Maybe it will be the most suitable programme before 7 from us have to leave the house for good. Seems their 3 months intensive course here has nearly come to its end.
Among us, there was sister Jehide. She recommanded us to give ideas on what kind of gift can we buy for each other soon. Actually, each of everyone of us have our own friend's name that we will be buying gift to. And the name should be kept secret. Perhaps by telling ours likes and dislike will help the programme to be more succesful.
So we start the session from the first person until the last one. One of us said that she will accept anything as gift but she will be glad if she will not be given personal ornaments. She is not used to it... so do I.. hehe
Once she said that, sister Jehide gave us such a profound advice that I've never heard from anyone before. She told in this way; "In daily life, we should not put specific limit to our own likes except what we find in our deen (religion). Because such kind of comprehension will results in difficulties to get along with peoples around. And at the same time discourage us to try new things in life. For you young people, sometime there must be phenomenal things that your soul looking forward to try.. just dont be too hard to yourself."
Yes... it is true... by being simple in our life, we are helping others too. We will able to open our door for people to come into our life... we should welcoming people, not making them run away. Islam teach us to be friendly with people no matter how different we are in character. We are the nation who stand strong with brotherhood, and become weak when we dont hold tight to it.
It is such a small thing, but the effects is so significant in todays life.
If only we can be more sensitive about it.
*Because of my english is still weak, this post is open for any critics or correction for my language improvement :)
