How do They Say Welcome

Bismillah

It is our first day in that Madrasa. On that Sunday morning, the programme start with the memorisation of listed Quran verses that related to the programme theme which is Islamic Brotherhood.

Those ayaah was:
Hujurat;10 & 12
Fussilat; 34
Ali Imran: 134

The main purpose of the memorisation is to prepare us with the dalil on the topic of brotherhood and also can be used as a quick reminder for ourself direct from the divine revelation. When students confront some bothering situation that able to trait the relationship among  them, these ayaah remind them to hold back to seek Allah pleasure and it will make them appreciate the present of the Quran more. Instead of being good based on self-conscious merely, students will feel more confidence to act with the revelation's guide.

After that, we moved to the reading session. We were scheduled to finish the Brotherhood Risalah from Risalah Annur (Maktubat; chapter 22) from the malay version and the ottoman scripture too.

It was followed by short explanation from the madrasa's sisters to give us more understanding from the text we have read.

We continued our programme with salah and Tesbihat session. The other way for turkish people perfoming their wirids. They have their specific ayaah, dua dan zikr for each prayer.

A couple of minute later, we were called downstair. The senior sisters have prepared us something for lunch. It was a long sofra full of turkish food and desserts. And the most attracting one is the 'welcoming cake'.

The cake toping was made of cream roses, the roses was given to each of the guest as the symbol of welcoming. I'm not sure whether it is cultural or not, but it is surely something delightful to be treated in a such pleasing way and to have your own rose in your plate :)

By night we were brought to the Konya Cultural Centre to watch the Sufi Dance. For your information the presentation fee is free for every Saturday Night. Before the presentation start, introduction speech was delivered. The speaker explain a little bit history and the meaning of movements in the Sema (Sufi dance). It then continued by the short sharing session from selected advice of Jalaluddin Rumi in his book Mesnevi.

There is some stalls downstairs that sell Rumi's book and souvenirs, for me the book price is more cheaper than other bookstalls outside. Maybe because it is sponsored by Konya municipality. Another reason that you will mind to bring some money before coming here is because Rumi's book especially english version is hard to be found in Turkey, and at this centre you can find it easily with great price.

That's it for now.... insyaAllah will find more time later on.
