Spirit of Caliph

Bismilllah, the begining of all goodness

Assalamualaikum, Hye!

Right know, I'm writting this post far away from my hometown Malaysia. I'm in the land of two continents. The land that witnessed the arrival of the best leader that came with him a huge batallion from the best soldiers.

A weeks ago, my friends and I attended a  pre-depature programme. The 3 days programme was held in Summit Hotel in USJ, and it was lead by Tuan Haji Ahmad Azzam bin Abdul Rahman, the father of the late Al-Marhum Ahmad Ammar who was also sent to Turkey to persue his study.

The first thing that Pakcik Azzam share with us about Turkey is by reminding us the history of Constantinople that Allah state in the verse 1-4 in Surah Ar-Rum. It is great to know Turkey with the verses from the Quran than just watch the Movie "Istabul, Here I come!". We are well informed that Quran itself is a living reminder, while we are the one who choose to forget.

We learnt many things from the programme. But I only want to share one of the crucial point that I feel all muslims must know and act upon it.

THE SPIRIT OF CALIPHATE.

We know that every muslim was created by Allah to carry out two major responsibilities. First is to be a loyal slave to Him. Second is to be His representative in this world in the other word is to be His Caliph.

Every Caliph is a loyal slave to Allah. The one who have really tight connection to his Lord. And when it works in that way, we know that the main mission of Caliph is not in conquering the whole world, but to make sure that the whole world is governed with the guidance of Allah until His Rahmah and the Truth can be establish in order to serve the best system of life for every creation in this world.

This is the misson of a Caliphate.
The mission that come from the concious of the present of Allah. The mission which Ihsan become the method of operation.

When I watch the video of the battle situation that was lead by Sultan Muhammad the Conquerer to capture Constantinople, I almost broke to tears.

Sultan Muhammad is a person who never leave his daily prayer since his childhood, have master six laguages, and have master the numerous field of knowledge on that time. And his soldiers also have the qualities which are not far from his leader. The quality of a muslim, the quality of Islamic teaching.

The battle is tough. Before Sultan Muhammad, there are a number of series of battle that have been set to conquer Constantinople by the earlier Caliphates. Finally, after eight hudreds years Sultan Muhammad manage to become the one who make the hadith of the prophet Muhammad become a reality.

It take a large effort, a strong desires, great experties, knowledge, sincerity, patience, steadfastness and strong cooperation. And we can find these quality in the character of the person who really practice Islam and almost all the driven forces can be found in the young people.

I remembered Pakcik Azzam asked us;
"Fatih Sultan Mehmet conquered Constantinople during his 21, how many years left for you?"

***

After three days living and fasting in Istanbul, I realised it is not easy as I thought it will be.

But Fatih Sultan Mehmet can make it until he became a succesful Caliph as what have been written in the history.

If I could not make it to be like him, I hope that at least I'am qualified to be amongs his soldiers.

Please pray for us.

Till then, thank you, Assalamualaikum.
